The Final Netflix Trailer for “Tour de France: Unchained” Just Dropped and It’s Intense

Watch the final teaser for the new series about the 2022 TdF coming to Netflix next week—it's clearly going to be packed with drama!

Hang onto your helmets, another trailer just dropped for the upcoming Netflix Tour de France series, Tour de France: Unchained. This, the final trailer before the series drops on June 8, opens with, "The Tour de France is very simple. It is a bike race, every day, over 21 stages." True. But if the Giro d’Italia was any indication of what's to come, it will be a very intense July.

So far it's clear that the Netflix series is going to bring the drama. Crashes, sprints, tears, team cars in the way of the race. This first season will be eight parts featuring seven teams during the 2022 Tour de France. All eight episodes of the docuseries will be available immediately to binge before the 2023 action begins. And don't worry, we already know that season two is underway.

This final trailer really makes clear how wild and at times dangerous road cycling can be at this level. Riders are quite literally putting their lives on the line in the hopes of winning. Because what else is there in life other than winning even a stage in the Tour de France? It can't be much.

At one point in the latest 2-minute teaser, Neilson Powless of EF Education-EasyPost says, "I have to leave my home, my family, winning a stage would make all the sacrifices worth it." The American rider came close last year.

The series is produced by the same team that created the Formula 1 series, Drive to Survive, which became wildly popular even among people who were not auto racing fans. Certainly that must be the hope for Tour de France: Unchained as well. Good luck getting any sleep next week as the binging begins
