White Men Can't Jump 2023: Cast, release date, trailer for Jack Harlow led remake of '90s movie
One of the most iconic '90s sports movies is being brought back to life with the remake of White Men Can't Jump, starring rapper Jack Harlow.
The original 1992 cult classic which starred Wesley Snipes, Woody Harrelson, and Rosie Perez will see Harlow play Harrelson's role, while Sinqua Walls will take on Snipes' role.
Moving away from the mic and in front of the camera, White Men Can't Jump is Harlow's first acting role and the Louisville native says he's keen to make this the first of many roles on the big screen.
"It felt good!" the rapper told Entertainment Tonight on the red carpet. "It makes me hungry, I want more. I want to keep going, you know? It's just a taste, and it was great, but I’m excited to keep moving."
Harlow is a huge basketball fan and can often be seen courtside at NBA games, even showcasing his skills on the hardwood at the 2022 Celebrity Game at All-Star Weekend in Cleveland, while Walls has a strong basketball background himself, playing college ball at the University of San Francisco.
Based on a script from Doug Hall and "Black-ish" creator Kenya Barris, the White Men Can't Jump remake has been in the works since 2017, with Boston Celtics forward Blake Griffin serving as an Executive Producer on the film, alongside former NFL player Ryan Kalil.

Based on the original 1992 sports comedy, the 2023 remake of White Men Can't Jump follows a similar storyline to the original.
With Jeremy's unassuming looks, he and Kamal pair team up to hustle games for money to raise enough for the entry fee for a streetball tournament with a $500,000 prize.
The official synopsis reads as follows:
White Men Can't Jump" is a modern retelling of the iconic 1992 film that celebrates the streetball hustling culture of Los Angeles. Sinqua Walls stars as Kamal, once a promising player who derailed his future in the sport, and multi-platinum rap superstar Jack Harlow makes his movie debut as Jeremy, a former star of the game whose injuries stalled his own career. Juggling tenuous relationships, financial pressures and serious internal struggles, the two ballers—opposites who are seemingly miles apart—find they might have more in common than they imagined possible."
The film will officially be released on May 19, 2023.
White Men Can't Jump will bypass theatres and be released exclusively on Hulu.
Headlined by Harlow and Walls, White Men Can't Jump features a host of star names including recording artist Teyana Taylor, Laura Harrier, rapper Vince Staples, and the late Lance Reddick.
White Men Can't Jump stars Harlow as Jeremy, while Walls plays the role of Kamal Allen. The late Lance Reddick plays Benji Allen, the father and former coach of Walls's character Kamal.
The film also features some familiar cameos with close friend of Harlow and Miami Heat guard Tyler Herro, as well as NBA reporter Taylor Rooks, who both play themselves.
White Men Can't Jump is set to be released on Hulu on May 19, 2023.
