'Virgin River' Season 6 Drops New Teaser Trailer

'Tis the season for love matches...and triangles.

It looks like it's going to be a white Christmas—and not just in the snowy sense. The brand new Virgin River season 6 teaser trailer gives fans a glimpse at Mel Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge) and Jack Sheridan's (Martin Henderson) long-awaited wedding, complete with a flashback to their poignant proposal and even a sneak peek of Mel's white lace wedding gown!

The wedding storyline was first introduced in season 4 when Jack initially proposed, but it came to a pause in season 5, which lacked the highly-anticipated ceremony. Thankfully, the trailer released by Netflix shows that their union will be the main focus of season 6, which is set to premiere just before Christmas. According to Deadline, that's slightly ahead of schedule. Proof that Christmas miracles really do come true!

And after leaving fans with plenty of questions from the season 5 part 2 finale, your romantic, drama-loving hearts will be filled to the brim with joy knowing that you'll be able to dive right in. Virgin River season 6 is set to premiere on December 19, 2024. And not only that, but all 10 episodes will be available to watch!

Yes, there is a trailer (or rather, a teaser). Whatever you want to call it, the sneak preview of season 6 is a tribute to Mel and Jack's love story with flashes of their pre-nuptial pursuits peppered in. Give it a closer watch, and you'll see glimpses of Mel's wedding dress, Jack's tux fitting, a hot pink limo, and the couple slow dancing in an empty barn.

But in true Virgin River fashion, their spring wedding isn't all sunshine and rainbows. “We’re trying to hit all the milestones of the pre-wedding planning, the bachelor and bachelorette parties, the rehearsal dinner,” showrunner Patrick Sean Smith told Netflix. "There’s dress shopping, suit try-ons, and more than one last-minute wrench thrown into the mix for our favorite couple."

Deadline says that season 6 will pick up in the midst of Mel and Jack's wedding planning. And the logline from Netflix reads: "This sixth installment promises fresh twists and turns, escalating love triangles, delightful wedding drama, as well as uncovered secrets from Mel's father's past which will transport us to the magic and mystique of Virgin River in the 1970s."

You can expect to see many familiar faces from past seasons of Virgin River and a few new characters. While season 6 is about Mel and Jack's future, there will be flashback scenes featuring Callum Kerr and Jessica Rothe as a young Everett and Sarah (a.k.a. Mel's parents). Speaking of Mel's biological father, John Allen Nelson, who played present-day Everett in the Christmas special, will reprise his role this season.
