Sterling-based Altor Trailer Locks has expanded its business and is now available at Tractor Supply, with over 2,000 stores in the United States, according to a recent press release.

Altor's CEO and Co-founder and Leesburg resident Karen Schaufeld launched the company because she is an avid cyclist who was looking for a lightweight and portable bike lock, the release states. She teamed up with Engineer and Inventor Dylan Cato to develop the product line, which includes bike and trailer locks.

The company says that Altor Locks are engineered to defy thieves with power tools. All conventional trailer locks can be cut under 120 seconds or less, however, the ICON trailer lock survived a concentrated attack by angle grinder, lasting over an hour and thirty-two minutes of continuous power tool attack using 14 blades, and 8 battery packs.

"The Altor ICON Trailer Coupler Lock is the only true power tool resistant trailer coupler lock on the market creating a new category of lock," said Schaufeld in a statement. "We specifically created our company and our product line to be an industry disruptor."

Altor Locks is supporting Life Out Here with TSC. Altor's ICON Lock secures trailered property in the farm and ranch category, along with those who enjoy living the rural lifestyle.

The ICON Trailer Lock for 2" and 2-5/16" fits most SAE Class I-IV rated A-frame and channel mount couplers with a flat lip design.

The ICON Lock is currently available at altorlocks.com, amazon.com, and now tractorsupply.com.
