Jumanji's Next Video Game Adaptation Lands an Exciting New Trailer, Release Date

Outright Games announces the release date for its new video game, Jumanji: Wild Adventures, with a new trailer.

Outright Games' Jumanji: Wild Adventures is set to launch on consoles and PC in November.

Based on the film franchise from Sony Pictures, Outright Games created the multiplayer video game in collaboration with Sony Pictures Consumer Products. Wild Adventures takes place in the world of the most recent films, which include 2017's Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and 2019's Jumanji: The Next Level, and sees the return of familiar characters such as Dr. Smolder Bravestone, Ruby Roundhouse, Franklin "Mouse" Finbar and Professor Shelly Oberon. Wild Adventures will launch on Nov. 3 and will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox X|S and Steam.

Wild Adventures serves as the follow-up to Outright Games' Jumanji: The Video Game, which was released in 2019. Wild Adventures finds the team of adventurers back in the world of Jumanji, tasked with finding a mysterious artifact, The Jewel of Jumanji, which will be the key to returning them back home. According to Outright Games, Wild Adventures is "four times bigger" than the previous game and features "uncharted jungles, forgotten villages and icy mountains, even more deadly encounters and special items to unlock."

Each character in Wild Adventures comes with unique personalities and strengths, as well as unlockable powers and abilities that can be customized by players throughout the game. While there is an option for players to go at the game solo, they can also choose to team up with a 4-player local co-op. The game also includes new enemies and puzzles for players to solve.

Directed by Jake Kasdan and written by Chris McKenna, Erik Sommers, Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner, 2017's Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle served as a sequel to 1995's Jumanji. The second installment starred Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan, Nick Jonas, and Bobby Cannavale. The cast returned for the third film, Jumanji: The Next Level, in 2019. A fourth film is supposedly in development as well, though there have been few updates on another installment.

In a March interview, Hart confirmed that he and Johnson had discussed ideas for Jumanji 4, stating that they have "the ball rolling" on some ideas. "We're talking about another Jumanji, of course, that's been a conversation," he said. "[We're] just figuring out the thing that can act as what would or could be the final chapter of he and I. We feel like we need something big to put our duo to an end, and not just leave it undone." He also hinted that the "final thing" could be one more film or a new franchise.

Jumanji: Wild Adventures will be available on Nov. 3, 2023 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox X|S and Steam.
